Getting bigger too fast

They say that once you have children the days go by faster and the more that you have the days seem to just start to meld together into one long day. You sometimes forget what day it is, what you have to get done and in some cases you forget to even shower. I don't have that last problem, but I do know that the days seem to go by so fast that I don't know where the hours went since having Rebecca. And now I can start to see her little personality starting to really take shape. These past two weeks a lot has happened for Rebecca. She cut tooth #1 and #2 is just under the gums, but you can see it.

I knew that the time of her napping in the swing would soon be over. I need to get her used to napping in her crib and for Thanksgiving we are not going to have the swing with us so she needs to be able to nap in the crib or a pack n play. Well today I walked into her room after she refused to go down for a nap and I found her sitting up in her swing holding onto the sides as is swung side to side in the cradle motion...Looking at me and smiling. Time to put that up on Craig's List.

The last two transitions of this week is I took the back support out of her baby tub so its just her sitting in it. She really hasn't been using it all except when I lay her down to wash her legs. It makes it easier to wash them, but afterwards she tries to pull back up to a sitting position so why put it in at all. Lastly talking up a storm. Little miss chatter box. And I know that soon I will also be packing up the bouncy seat since she hasn't used it in weeks and the same with the playmat. All these changes!! She's getting big too fast.

Watch this video of my little chatter box.

Saturdays Top Five Laughs

1.) We tell Aiden that when he is bigger that he will ride on the school bus. The other day he tells me that he is big. Gamma (grandma) is not big enough. She is little. Papa has big strong muscles and he can go on the school So can Daddy.

2.) Sometimes Aiden doesn't always have the best aim when going to the bathroom so first thing in the morning we make him sit down. Seth was sitting on the bath mat in front of the toilet so Aiden tells him that he needs to move out of the way so he doesn't go pee pee on him.

3.) We know that we can get a little vocal when we are driving and both Seth & I are pretty good about not using colorful words when expressing road rage. The other day when driving to school Aiden tells me that that car is going really slow and that they must not know how to drive right.

4.) Joking around with Aiden, Seth sometimes asks him if he wants a fresh one. (Something that we got from a friend of ours-Dave) So Aiden runs over randomly to Seth and says that he wants a fresh one.

5.) This morning while playing with his cars in the kitchen Aiden ran out of cars to launch down his ramp. He stands up and says "Hey! What the heck?!" Not sure where he got that one from.

Saturdays Top Five Laughs

**Head on over to The Mommyhood Chronicles for more laughs**

5.) While driving in the car Aiden said something and we didn;t what he said so Seth turned around and asked him to repeat what he said.  he tells us "I already said. Daddy you turn around and face front."

4.) The other night Aiden said he stole all our noses and he was keeping them in his belly button.

3.) Rebecca now when she eats makes a grunting sound as she is "chewing". She also will now take a bite, smile and then bob her head to side to side.

2.) The ATM by our house is broken about 50% of the time and its such a pain in the butt to have to get out with the kids and go inside to deposit checks. So yet ago the ATM was out of service this past Thursday. A- "Mommy the bank is broken?" Yes Aiden it is. "Mommy you have to give me yur phone so I can call Daddy to go fix it."

1.)It drives us nuts when Aiden yells to us from the other room so I told him yet again this morning that if he wanted to come talk to us that he needed to get off his butt and come over to us instead of yelling. A few minutes later he gets off the couch and is rummaging through the pantry. I ask him what he is doing instead of watching the Mickey episode he wanted. " What Mommy? I got off my bum bum."

So what are yours.

A 2 party kind of day

** Sorry that I forgot to post this 2 weeks ago**

October 2nd was  a pretty busy day. First, we had Hayley's (The Mommyhood Chronicles) carnival birthday party. Aiden has such a good time playing all the games and getting his prizes. He loved the can game where you throw the bean bag at the tower of cans. I think the guy was pretty surprised at how hard he threw the bag for is size. He also liked picking the duckies out of the pool. Then of course what child does not like playing with water? And then we got some cotton candy, popcorn and he even wanted to get his face painted. It was a great day

 Duck fishing.
Giving the birthday girl a hug.
 Look at that arm!
 Plinko!!

 Yummy cotton candy.

 taking Rebecca for a stroll.

My mickey face! ( he asked where it was days later.)

Later that day we had the 40th birthday party of a good friends of ours, Mark, so we headed over to that party after everyone had their naps. Aiden was wiped from party #1 and he ended up falling sleep in the car on the way home. But he had a great time playing with another one of his friends, Jon.

Saturdays's Top Five Laughs

A friend of mine posts on her blog The Mommyhood Chronicles every Saturday the funny things that her kids say or do through out the week. A few months ago I started a book where I write down all the funny things that Aiden says, but I thought that I would start sharing on here. the book will be for later embarrassment at say his wedding.

5.)There was a dead animal in front of our house last weekend and Aiden asked me what that was. I told him it was an animal. He then said that someone broke there stuff animal and they needed to fix it.

4.) After Aiden went potty I had to go as well. he says to me. "Mommy you have to sit down to go potty?" Yes I do Aiden. "You don't have a pee pee so you can't stand." No I don't. "You have to go to the store to buy one so you can stand like me and Daddy."

3.) Nuff said

2.) "Rebecca do you have poopies?" Aiden- yeah mommy she have poopies stuck to her butt.

1.) "Daddy, Leo is scratching Rebecca's kitty. We have to spray him." Why don't you put her kitty away. "That's a good idea. Then we go spray Leo."

I know that there were a couple more funnies this past week, but I neglected to record them. Only so much you can do. Either way. ENJOY!!!

Getting closer to crawling

I'm pretty certain that by the end of the month Rebecca will be mobile. I know that every parent says that and then it doesn't happen until months later, but Rebecca is already starting to shift onto her knee from a sitting position and she is also doing a little butt scooching as well. Plus she does a mean 360* in seconds.

A year already

Some people may not understand this type of a post, but for a number of my friends that are animal lovers they will know exactly what I am talking about and even know probably what I am feeling today. On this day last year we said good bye to our beloved Jessica. She was given to us by one of Seth's neighbors as a housewarming present for our first apartment. She was also our first pet together. She was tough love, but when she gave you love it was real. I want to say that her and I had an understanding. To me there was something special about her that I hate to say it made her a favorite of mine. Even after we brought home a second cat a year later I know I gravitated toward Jessica more.
Last September she started to act a little different and started to have accidents. We thought she was mad at the thought of another child coming into the house, but she was not like that with Aiden so that couldn't be the problem. Then I noticed that she was losing weight  and not eating right. I brought her to the vet and they thought maybe she ate something that had irritated her stomach and it needed to heal. they gave me meds, but that did not work. I brought her back and told her that she was also not walking right. She had a drunken stagger. They checked her reflexes and they were not what they were suppose to be. Blood work reviewed that she a had sky high white bloodcell count and to me that meant she had cancer. The doctor didn't want to jump to that conclusion, but I knew it already. After x-rays were done, they found a mass in her abdomen that they were not sure if it was something she ate to cause an infection or what. We were sent to a better hospital where they looked over the scans, did some more tests and after a biopsy they revealed that she did in fact have enlarged lymph nodes and they confirmed that she did have Feline Lymphoma. Seth and I went to get her that night to bring her home for one last time to say good- bye. She slept in our room because at this point she could not walk. We were told that at her present condition that she was mentally already gone and that she did not know where she was. they had hydrated her to get her through the night where we would then bring her back to put her at rest. It was one of the longest nights and it was also one of the hardest things I've had to do thus far. She was a part of the family. She was my baby. The thing that gets to me the most was the fact that from the time that I noticed a change in her to the time she left us was only 5wks. She had a very aggressive form of lymphoma and I was not prepared for this to happen. She was only 8yrs old and it was all too fast. I had 10 days from the time I brought her to the vet to process that she was very sick and not coming back home with us as she was. the second hardest day was picking her back up from the vet....in a little brown box. As of right now she sits in our living room on my hope chest. I have not opened up the box and I don't know if I ever will. I know that she was just a cat, but to me pets are more then just pets. They are family members. So today I will remember all the good times that we had with her.

My first 5K.

Yesterday I signed  up for my first 5K. Seth and I ad talked about potentially doing this and when you talk about it its just talk, but then once you fill out the form and actually hit submit that is when it all becomes real. That is when I got all nervous that I wasn't going to be able to run the full race. I've never been able to run a mile. Chase me with a knife and I'd be dead in about 5 minutes. So doing this and being able to complete the race is going to be huge for me. I'm lucky that I have a great support system though. Seth is training with me. I've started a training program on my iphone call "couch to 5K"According to the app after 9 weeks you shoul dbe able to run a 5K. I am already on week 2 and I have 7 weeks left to go which is right about when the 5K is so it should all fall into place. We will be in Michigan to run the race and it will be on Thanksgiving. Its called the Turkey Trot. My grandfather and 2 of my aunts are also running in the race and potentially my uncle, all of them are runners so they have been motivating me as well. My real goal is to be able to do a 10-11min mile so that would give me a completion time of about 35-40minutes. I'll update periodically about how my training is going and hopefully I don't have anymore freak outs.

L'Shana Tova!! (Happy New Year)

Wednesday night was the start of Rosh Hashanah- The Jewish New Year. Friday night we all gathered at my in laws for a late lunch/early dinner. Aiden was super excited to see Naomi and Amanda. Seth stayed home with Aiden and Rebecca that day while I went to work for a half day. Afterwards that is when we headed up. Here are a few shots of the day.
