My First Bike

With Aiden, Seth wanted to get him a bike for Hanukkah after he turned 2. Aiden was excited about the bike, but he was too small for it and didn't really understand the concept for pedaling yet. Plus it was December so there weren't many times that we went out to ride the bike since it was cold and snowy. The summer came and he was slowly getting used to riding and then of course his birthday came and we ended up getting him a power wheels truck. He did finally start riding the bike that September and was excited when he could finally pedal by himself. With that I was not going to make the same mistake with Rebecca so we opted to go the tricycle route with her. I saw that she showed interest in a friends tricycle at a birthday party so I knew that we should get her a trike and then when she was older we would get her a bike. Plus the past few months she's been eying Aiden's bike wondering where hers is. I snagged a Minnie Mouse trike on sale during Christmas and stashed it in the basement until her birthday. When we took it out for her she was over the moon and couldn't wait to ride it. She got pretty mad when we told her that it was time to go in.

Happy 2nd Birthday Rebecca!!

I cannot believe that its been 2 years since the day you were born. Since the day that you made you very speedy entrance in my life. You could have given me a little more warning, though I suspect you think the week of random contractions were a warning.

Fair enough.

You are such a hoot. You laugh. You scowl. You grin. You smile. You scream. We cover our ears.

I can't imagine life without you and I don't want to either. You make our family complete. Today I wish for you another year of learning and growing and exploring new things. So much has changed since you turned one. I can't wait to see what is waiting for us this year.

Happy Birthday Seth!

This year Seth’s birthday fell on Yom Kippur. Not the greatest way to celebrate your birthday by having to fast all day long. Well with him still being on meds for his strep we figured that we would just take a pass this year.  I’m sure that everyone will be understanding. We did manage to get to temple this year. We did not go last year because one of the kids was not feeling the greatest. I think it was Aiden.  They were both great at not being loud and disruptive. Toward the end Rebecca started to get a little unruly, but that was because 1.) she was tired and 2.) it was pretty much her lunch time as well.  In the end they both made it 1:45 of temple. Not a bad day.  We picked up a few things for dinner for later on our way home and in for a nap she went.

About 4pm Seth’s parents and his brother and family came over to break the fast. It was a good time. Good food. The kids played together. Rebecca liked that we put her at the kids table to eat with Aiden and my niece Naomi. She felt like a big girl, but in the end she ended up back in her booster seat sitting at the big table with all of us. She eats better that way, but she’ll learn. I got Seth a carrot from White’s Bakery. I love their cakes. Always so good and very fresh. Moist, never dried out. Seth loves carrot cake so I figured get him a cake that he likes and I’ll pick up something small for the kids to have.  We were also going to have apple pie that his brother made.  It was a long day, but a good day. Here’s to another year.

 Ready for Temple.

 Yummy cake!

Playing the elephant game, but we need to exchange it for anew one since the motor is pretty well shot, out of the box.

Get Your Party Hat On!!!

This weekend was Aiden’s birthday party. We decided to have it at a party place this year. SO glad we did. It was soooo much easier than having it at the house. No need to clean up. All I had to get was favors, balloons and cake.  There was plenty of room for the kids to run around and id we did happen to have rain, we were inside. Basically we did the math out and the cost of having the party at the house was the same as if we did it at a place. And I didn’t have to worry about having a clean house either. BONUS!!!

So the party was held at Kidz Wurld in N. Attleboro. It’s an indoor bouncy house and they also have a toddler area for smaller kids as well. Within a minute of being in the place Aiden was already jumping in one of the houses. There were about 16 kids there total which included 2 babies, but since the place was so big there was no squishing and the adults could basically relax because we rented the place out to ourselves so there were no outside people allowed in.  Aiden did start to fall asleep on the way home from such a busy day and we were hoping that he would take a nap. We brought him up to his room, but about 20mins later he was down the stairs asking to open up his presents. Everything had been put into a giant bag so when Seth brought it in from the car it almost looked like he was Santa Claus with his sack full of presents. And for good measure Seth did say “Ho Ho Ho! Happy Birthday!”

Aiden had a blast with all his friends and I took so many pictures. Below is only a sampling of some of my favorites. I’m tempted to go back there for Rebecca’s party since it will be in February and be cold. And there might also be an addition 9-10 people.  I might see what else is more local or…. I may brave and have people over at the house, but that is A LOT of people so we’ll see when it gets closer to that time.
