Get Your Party Hat On!!!

This weekend was Aiden’s birthday party. We decided to have it at a party place this year. SO glad we did. It was soooo much easier than having it at the house. No need to clean up. All I had to get was favors, balloons and cake.  There was plenty of room for the kids to run around and id we did happen to have rain, we were inside. Basically we did the math out and the cost of having the party at the house was the same as if we did it at a place. And I didn’t have to worry about having a clean house either. BONUS!!!

So the party was held at Kidz Wurld in N. Attleboro. It’s an indoor bouncy house and they also have a toddler area for smaller kids as well. Within a minute of being in the place Aiden was already jumping in one of the houses. There were about 16 kids there total which included 2 babies, but since the place was so big there was no squishing and the adults could basically relax because we rented the place out to ourselves so there were no outside people allowed in.  Aiden did start to fall asleep on the way home from such a busy day and we were hoping that he would take a nap. We brought him up to his room, but about 20mins later he was down the stairs asking to open up his presents. Everything had been put into a giant bag so when Seth brought it in from the car it almost looked like he was Santa Claus with his sack full of presents. And for good measure Seth did say “Ho Ho Ho! Happy Birthday!”

Aiden had a blast with all his friends and I took so many pictures. Below is only a sampling of some of my favorites. I’m tempted to go back there for Rebecca’s party since it will be in February and be cold. And there might also be an addition 9-10 people.  I might see what else is more local or…. I may brave and have people over at the house, but that is A LOT of people so we’ll see when it gets closer to that time.

Off to the Fair

This weekend we went to the Marshfield Fair. It was crazy busy. I’m pretty sure that the fact that it was opening weekend and a beautiful one to boot weather-wise brought everyone out for a good time. This year was much better than last year. Last year Rebecca was only 6mos old so there was not much for her to do and also if I remember correctly it was hotter as well. This year she was able to go on a few rides and I didn’t realize that there were 2 more rides that she could have gone on, but she still had fun going on the carousel. She was mad that she couldn’t go on the car ride with Aiden which was the same exact car ride that she went on at the Southwick Zoo. Different places different rules.  I was going to take her on the train ride until she threw a fit about waiting in line so that was the end of that. She enjoyed playing her first carnival game though, picking up the ducks in the pool. Aiden’s favorite ride was the giant slide that you sit on the potato sacks. I’ll admit that as a child that was one of my favorite rides and I could do that one over and over again, but somehow now that I’m older I wasn’t so sure about the ride once we got to the top. However, if it wasn’t a long line I would have gone down it again with him if we could. Both kids had a lot of fun, but alas we had to call it a night. Rebecca was starting to get cranky since it was getting late and of course Aiden was bouncing off the walls from a sugar rush from ice cream we bought on the way out.

Filling up the Calender

Everyone know that time goes by fast. It seems to move faster once you have children and once they start getting more active and into things, then you can just forget being able to sit down to relax because life is just on permanent fast forward. You'd be lucky if you can get one moment in regular play never mind a pause moment. So in trying to keep the kids entertained so that once the weekend arrives I don't hear, "what are we doing today?" I've already planned things out all the way to the end of the year. Maybe I'm creating this habit of always having to do something because I don't want the kids to be bored. Yes they need to learn to entertain themselves at some point, but they are still young and I want to be able to do things with them. There are a number of weekends that are blank and we'll just play it by ear as far as if we do anything or if we're just homebodies for the day. Not that I want to always be in a constant fervor of "Go, go go.", but I like to look at the calender and see the things that we have planned out. I get excited and then once I tell Aiden he gets excited. Its an all around win. So what does your calender look like these days?

New Camera

So my trusty Panasonic point & shoot (P&S) camera met its final match at the beach a few weeks ago. I had been having issues with the motor for the lense and would have to turn it off and on a few times for it to focus right even work. The straw that broke the camera’s back was salt water. Now I do have a DSLR, but for some every day picture taking I would rather just grab a smaller camera then get the camera bag, unwrap the shoulder strap and finally get it ready to take the coveted picture that was done 2 minutes ago. I received an email from Onesaleaday.com and while for the most part they never have anything that I would use, there are the moments that something comes along and I snatch it up. Case in point they had this camera.

Fuji Film FinePix JX580
16 Megapixel Digital Camera

It also came in blue and I was tempted to get it in blue, but opted for the standard black. It’s a little more basic then my old Panasonic. It only has a 5x zoom as opposed to the 8x that I had, but honestly the 5x is fine for me because unless I had the camera on a table or a tripod anything that I sot at an 8x zoom came out all blurry and grainy. I don’t need anything fancy. That is what I have my other camera for. I just want something that I can take out to the park or to a friend’s house. Something that  I can just put in my purse. And the best part was that I got it for only $65.
